2013/2014 Season Awards

Terang Harness Racing Club congratulates all Award Winners for season 2013/2014 and thanks them for their support of the Club.

Leading Driver – Matthew Craven

The Leading Driver Award went to Matthew Craven with 102 points, 8 points clear of his nearest rival.  Matthew drove on 88 occasions, averaging over six drives per race meeting for the season,  With a total of 17 wins, 10 second placings and 14 third placings, Matthew was truly deserving of this Award.

For the third successive season, Margaret Lee is the Leading Trainer of 2014 winning in fine style from her nearest rival Peter Manning.  Marg’s training efforts have produced an exceptional 22 results from 32 starts including 10 wins, 8 second placings and 4 third placings.  Marg’s diligence in training is well supported by her family and her stable team and she is a tremendous advocate for harness racing at Terang.

Trotter of the Year – Im Notta Trotter

Im Notta Trotter earned 10 points from 8 starts with a very consistent 5 second placings.  Owned by Brooke Sadler at Inverleigh and trained by her great mentor Bob Kuchenmeister, Im Notta Trotter is now a 6 year-old gelding sired by Modern Art.  Im Notta Trotter also finished the season in equal second position in the Horse Of The Year Award.

Another horse that is owned, trained and mostly driven by Brooke, namely Lifes Tough, finished in equal third position in the Horse Of The Year Award resulting in an overall outstanding year at Dalvui Raceway for Brooke.

Horse of the Year – Keayang Storm

Horse of the Year

Keayang Storm, owned by the Craven Family Group raced as a 3 year-old at Terang on four occasions, winning twice and twice finishing second.

Concession Driver of the Year – Jason Lee

Jason Lee is the winner of this Award for the third successive year.  Amassing a total of 94 points from 65 starts, with 14 wins, 16 second placings and 6 third placings Jason produced a consistent and impressive performance.
